Hey Christian, there is a lot to learn and drink ;-)

Some of the better made wines are aging beautifully and this was no exception. It was superb and IMO at it's prime, but then again I like age to my reds if possible. I acquired this at charity auction 5 or 6 yrs ago and have had it lying in state since. Glad we had it now and didn't leave it much longer. This isn't the top wine from this vineyard, that is Maya, which is in another league, but it is a classic fine Napa Valley Cab with some ageing to soften the tannins and allow the classic elements of the Napa valley floor and Cab. Sauv. grapes to shine through.
Unfortunately, it is often tricky to find great Napa Wines outside of the USA other than the big names and producers.
If you ever get to San Diego, get in touch and I'll do my best to meet up & share some great red vino!
Cheers,
Tim

I still need to learn about American wine. It looks like a great bottle though. I did drive up through Napa Valley 15 years ago and did make a few stops. Don’t think I got a grasp of what it is though.

The selection here is limited and it is my feeling that quality is quite pricey for the American wines when I compare them to the US prices. Still I am determined to get to know it much better. Napa is a place I will revisit as a part of a road trip with ...

I enjoyed a bottle of the Maya 96 earlier this year, probably one of the most enjoyable wines I have ever had.
