. . . to Ian and Brigitte's place yesterday for dessert.




Ian and Brigitte, of course, being the son-in-law and daughter of Uncle Bernard, whose '66 Porsche 912 . . .





. . . made an appearance on Wrist Scan (or was it Automotive?) four years ago.  Uncle Bernard passed two years ago; yesterday was our first meeting since then.

Supper was prepared by both hosts: sautéed shrimp in Spanish olive oil with garlic and basil . . .




. . . avocado and tomato salad dressed with oil and fresh lemon . . .




. . . with sides of olives and artichokes.





Yes, they were catering to my pesceterian diet.




We've been friends our whole lives . . . our parents were life-long friends, too.

This Spring we have been blessed with the largest, sweetest strawberries ever! OK, we do live in Southern California, and our state produces 90% of the berries harvested in the US. But this is an unusually great year. We can't eat them fast enough, and we...
