Time-setting on a simple CS.
It’s not FPJ Friday, yet, but I’d taken my humble CS out in preparation, and it struck me for the first time that the relationship between the crown movement and time advancement (moving forward) is the exact opposite of all my other watches.
Am I just hallucinating or is that actually true? If it is, any explanation for why?
I’d also like some reassurance that “fake-hacking” the seconds hand (by applying some backwards pressure untill the seconds hand is in sync with an atomic clock) won’t harm the movement. I’m used to doing that on non-hacking manual and automatic movements from the likes of Patek and omega, without any long/lasting damage, but wanted to check.
Thanks in advance for any responses.
