Vintage JLC, question
This is my fathers old Jlc. He must have bought it some
time in the 70s and wore it every day, so i‘m quite
lucky wearing this watch now although the typical
70s design seems to be a little out of time today. It was
serviced at Jlc this spring so it works perfectly but they
told my they couldn‘t guarantee the water resistancy
after all the years. What i dont know is the quality of the
glass (plexiglass concerning the date of fabrication?) and
i fear damaging the glass during my daily activities.
Mayby one of you, ladies and gentlemen, can give me
a clue, i‘d be very grateful.

The steel version on bracelet is listed by rarebirds dot de and plus ultra as ref 24001. Caliber 906 inside Very nice watch 👍

I find it very attractive. Almost like a cross between a Nautilus and an Overseas!

That is a beautiful Chronometer! I would say not to worry too much about damaging the glass, which I’m inclined to say it might be mineral glass. If you feel uneasy it might be worth reaching out to the manufacture and ask to buy a couple of spares ...
This is such a special watch.
Especially bc of its story. I think it’s absolutely timeless design and beauty. I don’t find it out of time looking at all. Is it a Genta design? I hope you wear it in good health and remember the best times with your dad when you do! 👏👏👏
