Trains, Planes and Automobiles

There was a literal train of planes over us today as we had a picnic after driving over to Coronado.  Actually this post should be called planes trains and automobiles.

Our plan to go to the park was stymied by construction of a tiny bronze monument, as the grass are was crowded with trucks, piles of dirt and men in hazard vests.
So we went to the beach with our friends who were visiting from Brazil.

Northerners, shield your eyes with sunglasses and put on some sunscreen before reading further… naturally being late November on a weekday, the beach was uncrowded.

Not being the type to haul a big load of stuff, we relied on the availability of public tables. We found the only one in sight, and grabbed it.

Our meal was made even more fun by the planes flying overhead and making practice landings on the North Island Air Station runway. Luckily, I had my good camera in the truck, so I ran back and grabbed it.

Highlight of the meal was Riga Latvian Sprats (sardines) in olive oil.

Thanks for looking in and looking up.
