Where to walk when it's raining? The Mall

We decided to go for our walk even though it was raining, but we only know of two enclosed malls left in our county. Retail businesses have changed in the last 10 years, and not for the better.

So after checking the opening times (10am) off we went.

It wasn't too busy. In fact it was less busy than the graveyard up the road... are Fridays a better day for burial than for shopping?

Of course we looked in at some watches - and it was clear that the stores here major in Bling and minor in haute horology. To even look at a used Rolex requires a state ID and credit check.

About 40 G-Shocks on display in Macy's compared to 10 or so Seikos and 60-80 Citizens. Shameful!

But I still had some fun in a Cobra. Till I saw the security guard eyeing me closely. Honest, I did not take the two missing lug nuts!

There was a game arcade with a real bowling alley, but how anyone could bowl with deafening music, flashing lights, animations, TV sets showing golf and movies, I don't know.
Bowling cost about $10 a game per person plus another $5-6 for shoe rental.

Seemingly acres of arcade games and deafening music and clatter.

Everything carefully designed to take your money

and fill you with sugar, as in this cotton candy machine, for only $8 you can buy some spun sugar. Or you could just go in here, a store called IT'SUGAR

All  the money goes right out to this truck>>

The angry man shown below was terrorizing the Target store while riding around on their handicap electric chairs, then bought some wine, poured it into his drink cup, and came out shouting F-you at everyone.
I was tempted to drop something from the balcony but didn't want to end up in jail. It seemed clear that he was a regular and immune from rightful eviction by the security forces.

This is the watch and jewelry repair booth from above. She was surfing the web on her phone. The Fruity drink stand was dispensing more sugar!

We headed out, ears ringing from the Muzak, and noses eager for cool clean air.

We had managed to pick up 3500 climate-controlled steps. The rain was still falling on and off, so we drove around a bit.

Seven! funerals going on at the memorial park

Nice mural on the school nearby

and low clouds threatening. The rain came as soon as we turned towards home,

which was immediately after I photographed this his/hers pair of Mustang convertibles...

Thanks for reading today.

PS For regular readers, I have entered about 200 walks in my spreadsheet and now suspect that's less than half. Stay tuned for the Walk Index to come!
