Tank Cintrée
The Tank Centrée is for me Cartier’s most slender and elegant Tank ever. It was designed in 1921, during the fruitful early years when Cartier created one icon after the other. The Cintrée inherited its curves directly from the Tonneau and is mostly seen on a leather strap. The one I found with the red Arabic numerals, was made as a special order of 7 pieces. The other one, what I find an ideal travel watch was produced in a limited edition of 100 pieces. The Tank Normale, celebrating its 100th birthday this year, is probably a good reason for Cartier to surprise us with some new models.

I wonder why only seven pieces of the tank Cintree with red Arabic numerals? Could there be any association with the seven states that make up the U.A.E.? Surely, this Cartier Tank below would also qualify..... Cartier Tank ??? Regards, MTF ...
There is a reason
This was a special order so I think someone had them made (ordered) for himself and his sons. But of course with special orders we are never sure. Best, GEO

Love both pieces! I miss seeing the Paris below the Cartier brand. I find it very aesthetically pleasing somehow. The current models feel a tad empty without the word Paris.

because of its historical background and because of its complication that's so popular among collectors.
