Rolex GMT 116710 - getting the "bruiser" on the wrist

So, finally, having taken the decision to buy my first modern Rolex since the Milgauss GV, what does it feel like to have the watch actually on my wrist?

I picked the watch from my AD in London on Tuesday. It has been on my wrist ever since...well, no surprise there.

In the sunlight (yes, there was at least 3 minutes of it in the UK this morning), the blue part of the bezel really distinguishes itself from the black. Yet, in some lights, the blue and black merge together. For me, I like that. The small touches on this watch continually enthuse me. Chris, I know you mentioned the size of the lugs as a possible negative. All I can say is that you need to get it on the wrist. I always feel that the Milgauss GV lugs are too much. I do not feel the same with this GMT at all. The 40mm size of the case combined with its depth sits very easily on my wrist.

Bottom line is that I am thrilled with this modern Rolex. It grabbed me the very first time I saw it on the Basel review by Miranda last year. I tried it on shortly after that...and yes, it has taken me a year to pull the trigger, but I did so because i wanted to be convinced that, even if a pepsi ceramic was released, I would still prefer the blue/black variant. I am convinced.
