Questions about Rolex Explorer I

Hello!

I was not a Rolex owner and never expected to become one, but I have now acquisited my first Rolex. It's not a very special one, it's basic, it's the Explorer I, and I like it just because it's so simple.

I read an article (see link under) which criticizes the Explorer Ref 14270 (with caliber 3000) and seems to be brought to the conclusion, that the quality of the completion and assembly of the watch is extremly low and disapointing.

If the Explorer Ref 14270 with cal. 3000 was qualitativly disapointing, is it so for the new Explorer Ref 114270 with cal. 3130? Was there any known change in the production process?

What do you think about the quality of rolex movments in the past and today?

Are all recent calibers of the same quality or is it so that some kinds of rolex calibers are "better finished" than other ones?

Thanks for considering my questions, which I hope are relevant,

Ben
