Problems with Rolex Datejust rotor
Hi all,
I have recently purchased a 1978 gold Datejust from a Burlington Arcade retailer in London. Thwatch looks immaculate and performs as a chronometer should. However, after it has stopped and I move it about as though it was on the wrist it works for a few seconds then stops. If I wind it, it works fine for about 48 hours. Does anyone know what is going on here? It seems the rotor is damaged or something.

The problem seems to be the rotor does not wind the movement properly. Any ideas?
I had a similar issue
I had the same issue (noise, not charging) with an "U" series Submariner. The oscillating weight axle was worn (lack of maintenance/oiling) and the weight was touching the movement / case. Got replacement parts and, after a complete cleaning by my watchma...
