First Rolex.
First off let me say that ever since i was little i've always admired Rolex watches.
And now that I have a good job. I bought my first Rolex. Not new but used. I believe its a 1970's Oyster perpetual datejust. And i love it.
Im currently in the military, and i wear it all the time. Not a scratch.
But i was wondering how long it will last if i keep it up mechanically and so on.
I'd like to give it to my children one day.
Anyone care to tell me the life span of a rolex?

If you wear it on a daily basis, just service it each 5 to 7 years.
And it will perpetually last... Well, you got the idea, not sure it will last 1000 years, but enough to give it to the next generation, without problems. I have some 50 years old Rolexes, and they work flawessly. Much better than myself. Best and welcome ...

so long as it has been checked to make sure seals are fine etc, it is waterproof...and to my mind that has to imply dust-proof too. If the watch is in good condition, then I really dont think you have any worries on dust. On temperature, I can see how ext...

It was serviced about 2 months ago prior to my purchase. Waterproof and all... I just wanted to make sure. Cant be too careful.
