Horological Meandering

Didn't wear my DateJust all weekend, naturally it stopped. Got to the office this morning and wound it and set to the correct time. Went to set the date and it will not advance, the winding crown will not even move. Didn't force it, just screwed the crown...

Just tried to set the date again, it advanced exactly as it should. I have no idea what the glitch could have been, or is. I think it just may need a service, if that's the case it may just have to sit in the watch box for a while.

I wouldn’t assume anything’s wrong with the movement. If you see it again then you can begin to plan for a service. I have found on some watches that a tiny drop of watch lube on the exposed stem can help it operate more definitely (reduced drag from the ...
