PP 3940J added to my collection!
Thanks to all the great advise from friends here, I recently added a second perpetual calendar to my small and humble collection; this particular piece is about 15 years old; comes as complete package in great condition from a good friend of mine; love the warm, vintage look of yellow gold; I adore the smaller 36mm size which perfectly fits my small 6 in wrist; it does contrast very sharply (albeit in a nice way) to the more sporty, modern, and somewhat sterile look of my 5550P. Here is a quick comparison pic for your review.

I would keep it for a while, the time to enjoy it and if it doesn't work as well, I can then send it
That's not an advice as the brand advices every 3-5 years but just how I would do with mine if I were in your position. Best, Mark
I concur with your assessment Mark.
If we sent our perpetual calendars to Patek for service every 3-5 years, we wouldn't reap the full benefit of the leap year adjustment. For me that defeats the purpose.
