I trust each one of you is having a great start to the weekend!
As i pointed out a while back ago, I 1st got informed through the Tokyo boutique of the minor changes that will be done to the PAM 341, namely the crystal being changed from sapphire to a plexy.
Well, this change has finally been updated on the product page on panerai.com m
If you were to visit the page right now, you will see that the crystal is Plexiglass (sic), and the water resistance has been much reduced to a puny 30 metres, just like the California.
Well,although the watch appears to be the toughest of all Pannies, but sadly now it has only a depth rating which is considered very low especially for a Pam.
Nevertheless, I am still looking forward to getting my piece, and btw the delivery date has been tentatively fixed for November 2009, probably just in time for Christmas.
Let's hope that Santa visits early this year....

I don't think the change will affect sales much, especially when it's hard core die hard Paneristis we are talking about! Such as myself, this piece is still as good as ever! And i do intend to wear it! Stephen

I recalled you being a reasonably slim guy so may I know how exactly are you intending to wear it? Of course, that's assuming you're wearing it on your wrist!

I already have a 26mm strap ready for it, and i'll probably try it once only with the original at the boutique, and then have the technician there change it for me before i even leave the store, therefore the length is no problem for me. As for the size, ...

a show piece, and that will be fine for some, but it does take away some of the credibility of the piece

Been away from Panerai for several years now for that reason. While some of newer models are "slightly" interesting, the price points squash any further interest.
But the fact that it's plexy makes it closer to the real thing, dont you agree?
I hate it too that it scratches easily, but well guess thats why my holy grail ref. 2533 has this superb big smash to it's crystal!

Least according to figures/speculations here: jaquetdroz.watchprosite.com there's less of a chance that they will do an OOR or another similar series afterwards...
