Been looking for a minty 87 for a while and found one at last....its an E series.
Researching this forum I found that the E series (as with early D series) were produced with the lighter blue dial and 'pushed in' hourly indices. The 87 E I want to buy has the darker dial and raised indices with metal surrounds. (as produced with the F,G,H series.)
Does anyone know if later versions of the E series were produced using the darker blue dial?....or is it more likely that the original dial and hands were replaced during a service?
Has anyone with a D or E series experienced same 'dial change' (from light blue to dark blue) during a service?
The seller of the watch is not the original owner so is unable to confirm past history.
Will the above circumstance cause any provenance/re-sale issues?
Over to you guys....thoughts much appreciated. Rgds Dom.
