Navy SEALs Alarm: What do you think?
I was enthusiast when it as released, in 2009.
And I have to say, that almost 4 years after, my appreciation for this watch is still present.
Among the pros, I would mention the use of titanium for the case, the ceramic bezel, the compressor crowns, the design of the dial, and the Cal 956.
The only con I have in mind is that there was some confusion at the unveiling of the watch, with the wording engraved on the sapphire, which was a good idea, and, on the definitive NSA, the wording on the alarm disc.
Then, the LEs INTO the LE, which was not pleasantly welcomed.
But, intrinsecally, the NSA is a very cool watch, a modern interpretation of the vintage world, with a neat wink to the Deep Sea alarm and the Polaris, a mix of the two, to say it better.
And each summer, ths is one of my very favourite toolwatch I take with me when I go ot the seaside.
No worries to have, with it titanium grade 5 case and its sapphire, while I am a bit more prudent with the Tributes To Polaris or Deep Sea Alarm.
At least this is my opinion on this watch.

The wording on the saphire
is too modern for me, perhaps they use laser engrave technology which doesnt has the same feeling compare with traditional method. otherwise, a super tool watch from JLC. Did you also change your sapphire? best, Ed

I personally preferred the Alarm to the Chono, but you didn't make a bad choice.

Rubber crowns
I've always wondered about the durability of rubber coated crowns, would function be affected if the rubber begins to age?
I have it for three years now, it very often went in the sea water

Well, I am giving the Navy SEALs Alarm a go myself. I have a long-standing love for the Master Compressor series with those beefy, technical compressor crowns. I think it was inevitable that I got another one. I am a weak, weak man. As for the LEs within ...

It's a beautiful watch
Unfortunately, too big for my 7 1/2" wrist. Guess I'll have to 'settle' with my Master Hometime for a daily companion. :)
It is a beautiful watch but...
...I already owned the Master Compressor Diving GMT which immediately became my "go-to" vacation watch. Both I, and more importantly my wife, :-) did not see the need to purchase this one when there are so many other JLCs that are calling my name. N

Sadly I don't live with mine just yet. But the watch is terrific and therefore high up my list. As in fact any modern Memovox is. But this one a little higher. Nice photos by the way! Cheers!

A tropic can work, too. Choosing the right strap is a big part of the fun, on the NSA. Best, Nicolas

As for the Natos, this is not a problem: Google Nato Straps.
You wil have tons of choices, and shops, near where you live. As for the distressed brown one, it comes from a famous strapmaker in Paris. As for the Tropic, well, it is you and your luck, as they are pretty rare and hard to find. The correct size is 22 m...

Haha definitely - what's your favorite NATO? There are so many brands, I've tried Gnomon's but I have noticed that the springbar is very close to the case so I can't use a very thick NATO strap otherwise it doesn't fit very well. Thanks again!
My favourite Natos are made of cordura on the top, and leather under.
Unfortunately, I don't know where to find them. They were always gifted to me, by good friends, or they came with the watches I bought. But if I ever know where to get them, I will let you know! Best, Nicolas
