My two cents...
Regarding this PP-Tiffany watch, of which 170 examples reportedly will be made. Clearly, anyone that Tiffany chooses could afford to spend the $53K on this watch -- money is clearly not an issue for this select clientele.
As Tiffany gets to decide on whom it will bestow the opportunity to buy one of the 169 (excluding the one to be auctioned off), I have only one real point of interest:
What I want to know, is, will any of the 169 respond to Tiffany, "Thanks but no thanks. I could buy it from you, put in my sock drawer for a while, then sell it and make some money, or make a lot of money with no effort, but I am not that kind of guy. I do not want to buy it because I will NOT wear it, and that is why I buy watches... to wear them!"
If one of the offer-ees would say this, that would earn my respect.

They should do it by a 1 entry per watch purchased from them since day 1. Lottery

I find the inscription on the sapphire very tacky. Since I haven't spent millions at Tiffany, it is a moot point! I would wear that color as it is actually sporty, which is the idea for nautilus 5711.
I'm certain these select clients are very concerned about how you feel about them.
But I could be wrong, and they aren't... In which case they will take the gift from their AD. After all, 'tis the season.

I don't see our role or interest in the scheme..
While my favorite steel 5711 remains the silver/white piano dial, this one is a close second. If I somehow defied the 100,000,000:1 odds and was allocated one of these I would definitely wear it, albeit sparingly.
I'm also reminded of that line from Jim Carrey's character in Dumb and Dumber: "So you're saying there's a chance."😂

Taken on its own, I kinda like it but the overall luxury watch market and its unobtainability makes me feel the end is nigh.
The speculators are wiping out the enthusiasts. The world is becoming mad with avarice and unbridled consumption. I no longer want to buy any expensive items.

Given the result of the Philips auction, in the words of Muhammad Ali,
the odds of my scenario in which Tiffany offered the Tiffany blue 5711 to a preferred client and that client saying "No thanks because I only buy watches that I wear, and I would not wear that watch" were slim to none, AND SLIM JUST LEFT TOWN.
