My perfect Sub

After owning roughly 100 Rolex and practically all sapphire variants of the Rolex Sub and Seadweller, I realised I like certain features better than others. And I realised that there is not one single reference that does it all!

I love the beautiful quality of the 116610 but cannot live with the oversize case. I really like maxi dials but do not like the asymmetric hands, with the too small hour hand. I like Chromalight but want an aluminum bezel that I can change (black, blue or faded). And I like the SD look, without a cyclops.

No, problem at all, I thought! Let us build the perfect Sub - for me! I started with a '09 Sub 16610 and removed the cyclops. There was a slight damage to the crystal anyway, so no worries here.

Some months ago, I found a chromalight maxi dial from a 116610. The hands should come from a DeepSea 116660 because the have a perfectly sized hour hand.

And that is the result: my perfect (modern) Sub!

Now, the only thing I would like to add is the beautiful clasp from a GMT 116710 or Explorer 214270. So if you have one, please let me know!
