My new Vacheron Constantin
Last week I advertised the fact that I had a palladium Quai de l'Ile coming my way. It has arrived and I am happy to share a few quick photos:
I had incorrectly stated that I was getting the first generation QDI with grey hands (not the black as in the photo). The shiny black strap that comes with the watch doesn't work for me at all. I'll wear it on black rubber until my grey croc strap, as seen on the tantalum QDI, comes in, hopefully before the year is out.
I plan on writing an in depth review with lots of photos to soon. Stay tuned!

while the QDI sings to me, I recognize that it is not for everyone, either because of the size or because of the dial (for which VC now makes the solid dial option). Bill

absolutely should be on display, just like the caliber 2475 of the QDI Day-Date-Power Reserve is. Bill

With the exception of the tantalum QDI.....
I prefer the look of a single metal for the case. I have played with the QDI configurator at VC's website and like the look of the dark dial on the rose gold QDI, but I am in a white metal mood right now. Bill

which uses the same movement, and which has a retail value of $26,500, and then look at the QDI in Palladium ($37,600) or Rose Gold ($40,900), the question you ask is a very reasonable one. I attibute the "QDI premium" to two factors. One is the complexit...

I saw the solid dial annual calendar QDI retails for US$68k. A nice watch, they must be doing well as that's a lot of money for an annual. Sorry to harp on this, the price surprised me is all, used to VC offering more of a value proposition than, say, Pat...
