My JLC MilSub!

So far this year, it has been a JLC year for me. I had my father's 1957 JLC completely refurbished and that was returned just a month or so ago. That was the highlight for me. But I have also found myself looking more and more at adding to my JLC collection. After Rolex, it is now the biggest share for me. I would like to share my latest addition. A massive thanks to Reverb for his enormous assistance in locating this one.

Dating from 1948.... issued to the British Military. There were a number of makes that were chosen by the British Military ...IWC, Hamilton and of course JLC amongst others. But for me, it made sense to go for the JLC version.

I have owned a 5517 Rolex Milsub in the past. I am not sure the total numbers of Milsubs that were made, but I suspect it is similar in number to the total number of 6Bs issued to the military from 1948. 1948 was the initial date of issuance, I believe, so it is nice to find one that came from that date. My JLC MilSub!

This piece fills a very nice spot in my collection and I have to say is extremely nice to wear. It has a certain depth which is surprising given its size. But that actually makes it very wearable. Now, being fixed bar I now need to find the appropriate nato strap.... James Bond for now, but i suspect this may look great on a leather nato.
