MB&F Legacy Machine Split Escapement EVO

Woke up to a beautiful day with a beautiful blue sky.  Air is good today!  And now, you can apparently see a beautiful sky blue on the new MB&F Legacy Machine Split Escapement EVO model.  The latest model from the very exclusive MB&F brand.  Decide you want one?  Better get on the phone fast and call your MB&F dealer for one!

The special part about this watch is the split escapement.  The balance wheel is on the dial side of the movement, while a long shaft connects it to the actual escapement on the back side of the movement where the pallet fork escapement interacts.  The watch also features a date display - practical.  And the watch also features a hand-wound 72 hour power reserve movement.  72 hours is so nice, because you can really put the watch down for a couple days and the watch will still be keeping time.

The watch can back up its sporty look with actual sporty statistics.  The case features 80 meters water resistance (good enough for swimming and possibly snorkeling if you don't go very deep, don't go diving though) and a screw down crown!  The gigantic balance wheel should also have a high inertia and a slow beat, so minor shocks shouldn't affect the accuracy.  Although, this watch probably shouldn't see anything too rough.

The cool blue dial looks great.  I haven't seen the watch in person, but it reminds me of Rolex's Platinum Blue models.  I can virtually guarantee you won't feel blue when you see this dial!

Here's a YouTube video with more on this watch.

Big congrats to the team at MB&F!  Why do they make such likable things?  At 75,000 CHF, 75.000 Euros, or $80,000 US Dollars; the price of this watch is very dear, and the limitation is very strict.  But what a watch!
