Love the Traveller II but confused about the movement

I am in a quest for a GP Traveller II but I confess I am confused about the movement(s) - Might someone please be able to help?

A friend is interested to sell his Traveller II and it is just the style I am looking for (black face, numbers 3, 9, and 12 only). It is the 40mm size, which I like.

My questions concern the movement (he doesn't have box or papers/manual):

1. Do all 40mm Traveller II watches have the GP 059G0 movement?
2. If not, is there a way (short of opening the watch) to tell which movement is inside? Can one tell by the model or case number?
3. Since the GP 059GO is based on a current (GP3300) in-house movement, am I correct in thinking that this is a more desirable watch (all other considerations equal) to the older watch with the A. Schild movement?

Thanks for any and all assistance.

Great forum (this is my first post)
