Jaeger-LeCoultre

Le Coultre Chrono, reference E 2644

Hello friends!

I wish to share this timepiece which I got a few weeks ago. This has been a most fortunate find, and I feel very fortunate of having found it, and been able to bring it home.

Ithis is a Le Coultre reference E 2644 chronograph, which employs a 72 Valjoux movement. It got the classic three dial configuration which shares with the famous first series Daytonas, as well as same movement, of course. This watch was made in the last years of the 1960´s.

The stainless steel case has a 35 mm diameter, and is very strong and with a good height, as it can be seen in photographs. The back is screwed so it makes for a waterproof watch (E=Etanche)

I specially love the awesome dial, which has a light blue shading in the center, and then turns to blue and black towards the perimeter , where the white tachymeter scale makes a good contrast with the black background.

I have included a photograph of the movement from internet, as I couldn´t open the back again to photograph it. I just had a glimpse of its 72 Valjoux movement the day of the purchase, buy no camera with me on that occasion. Movement is in pristine condition and works... like a Swiss watch!

The watch came with an ugly set of black leather straps, which I changed with a set I already had at home, made of ostrich leather, which I feel suits it better.

I wish you´ll like it, as much as I do. Thank you so much for your kind attention!

Best cordial regards, Abel.
