Just a quickie for the experts here
Hi all,
I'd just like to know the answers to a couple of questions relating to the Seamaster 300 diver's watch:
I've been looking at a 165024 and was amazed to see that such a divers watch didn't have a screw-down crown so which model was the first to have a screw-down crown. Also were these supplied on NATO straps as well as bracelets? - the Omega vintage website just lists bracelets but I understand that NATOs were an option - am I right?
As always, I'll look forward to receiving your vast knowledge on the subject
Cheers
Andrew

Hi regarding the strap, the SM300 165.024 came with either a steel band (7912,1039 or 1506 usually) or a leather strap. This is confirmed by several extract from archives which I have. The NATO strap never came with anything, but perhaps in those SM300s b...

I'd be surprised if there was a line-in-the-sand date or model to mark the change between crown types. And as Bill said, some watches may have been retrofitted with the screw down crowns after the fact. The good news is that you should be able to tell exa...
