Subexplorer shares his excitement over a recent acquisition, a vintage Omega Seamaster 300 reference 166.024, which joins his earlier ref. 2913-7. His post highlights the rarity of finding such well-preserved examples and the joy of owning a piece with a pristine case and a smoothly running Caliber 565 movement. This article delves into the community's appreciation for this iconic dive watch and offers insights into vintage Omega collecting.

Hello friends!!

I wish to share the timepiece I am wearing this whole week end.

It is a recent catch, which came to accompany my ref. 2913-7 I got a few months ago.

I was delighted to find this example of a dive watch which is rather rare down here. But after a long time looking after an Omega vintage SM, I was lucky to came across two nice examples, in the last three months.

Its case is almost pristine, in spite of one ugly mark on its caseback. The serial number shows this watch was made circa 1968, and its 565 automatic movement tics so nicely!

I wish you´ll like it, and understand why it will remain on my wrist for several days, before I decide to switch to another piece from my collection.

Have a nice week end everybody!

Best cordial regards, Abel.

...and of course, that that lovely Nik III ! the last of the truly fully mechanical u/w cameras. A beautiful watch - the SM300. I have also always been after a good example, but as you say, I takes a while to find the right, good one. welldone on your find! Looks good on the vintage looking leather strap. Cheers Tony

The SM 300 Thin bezel is really something, THE watch to have if you are in love with Vintage Diving Omega watches, or vintage diving watches in general, by the way, but the ref which came after, with its twisted lugs and the bigger case; is not bad, either. The best is, as often, to get both. Will you add a third one without date? :) Bravo, my friend. Bravo. Un abrazo, Nicolas

It's rare to see one like yours. Here they show up from time to time but all have some replacement and modern part, in special the bezel and case back. The strap is also a nice complement. Cheers, Nilo

... iron artifact under the watch and the background adds to the beauty of your timepiece. I rather prefer dial without date windows in my watches. Anyway, Omega SM300 ar so rare here, I couldn´t be picky this time. I keep looking forward to your came back with your "something new"!! This is a photo I took today, under our feeble Fall sun: Un fuerte abrazo mi amigo! Abel.

... And yes, I also prefer the non date dials. Id like to add a big triangle at 12 version too! Un abrazo! Con afecto, Abel.
