It has to be the longest time of the year. You buy a new watch and look for the package on the porch every day for a week. Two tone has not been my thing in the past, but this is just too damn perfect. I can't wait to take ownership of my first Rolex.
Dealer's description to me:
The Datejust features the cal. 1570, chronometer grade movement. Same movement as used in the 5512 Sub, Explorer 1016 and 1675 GMT. A real workhorse that is built like a tank and will keep very good time. The 1601's are stainless with a 14K gold crown and bezel. The watch has been completely serviced including a new mainspring, casetube, crystal and all gaskets. It does pass a water resistant test to 100 ft. Same as it did when new. As you can see the pictures, the case is in great shape and has been refinished to original appearance. Also the case has no pitting or rust. To my eye the original dial and hands looks pretty close to perfect. The dial is off white with gold markers.
When looking at the watch to reply to your request I found a mistake in the description. The serial number is 1.1m and puts the date at 1964.
Overall, it's a great watch. Would make a great daily wear. The only issue I see is there are small dings on the caseback. I don't think they are a real problem. Just wanted to point them out. When I refinish cases I don't like to remove too much material since my idea is to maintain the structural strength of the case. So I prefer to leave as much material as possible. These watches should last another 100 years plus and who am I to lessen that.
