Ferrari 308 GTBi

 

The 308 GTB followed on from the Dino 246 and was produced between 1975 and 1985, passing through several iterations. The shape was penned by Pininfarina and the car weighed just over 1000Kg. It was powered by a DOHC 2.9L V8, initially fed via 4 Weber carburettors, and then, from 1980, in the GTBi, a Bosch K-jetronic fuel injection system. The fuel injection decreased power output from 190Kw to 157Kw, but improved emissions. This was improved with the quattrovalvole cars introduced in 1982. Acceleration was ~6.5 seconds to 100kph. This example is from 1982, just prior to the QV models. Many seem to prefer the throttle response and sound from the Webers and the lighter original fibreglass bodies. The 308 GTS (targa) was of course the well known transport for one Thomas Magnum P.I.

The Webers? I am trying to learn as much as I can about old supercars, purely for the reason that they are true mechanical machines... I have a big issue with motorbikes (my first love) and cars, in that there are too many driver aids that take away from ...

last week Andy and i dropped into a supercar dealership and saw my all time favourite Ferrari. a right hand drive 575 super america. they even showed us how the glass flip top roof operated. so funky i could cry, especially when i saw the price. 7 years o...

automotive shapes of all time! The 308 and 328 were dressed in some of the most sensuous, elegant lines ever drawn, to my eyes. I'm undecided whether I prefer the 308 - edgier, more raw, more pure - or the 328: more developed, more toned down. A bit like ...

.. and even in a perfect world the 308/328 would be my one and only collectors car. Apart from the financial cost (which isn't exactly impossible) there is one serious problem .... I simply cannot fit into this car :-( ... i am way too tall with 198 cm in...

although the seating position is quite odd. I have a 328GTS, but being on the short side I have to position the seat very far forward, and even then my arms are rather out stretched to hold the wheel, and the seat back is at an angle so my head isn't rubb...

Thanks for the pictures Dino ! Your 328 really looks like it just left the factory. A car like this deserves to be cared for :-) . And ... it's a GTS so i can fit in it when the roof is off and left at home (not behind the seats). I still remember a frien...

Hi Filip, Yes, the car has lived a very good life. It's been in our family since it was new, and is really just used for driving in nice weather or to go to an occasional car show. Since its rarely been driven with the top off, it still smells like brand ...
