F.P. Journe story
Hi guys, some of you may remember this watch. It's a F.P. Journe Chronometre Optimum with a white mother of pearl dial. At the time this was the only one that had ever been produced in this combination. It was something really special to me, especially since like a lot of you I didn’t come from money and worked really hard for this piece. Soon after moving to Los Angeles I realized that I had to sell it and invest the funds towards my business and setting up in the US. Although this was not too long ago, F.P. Journe was not the hyped up brand that it is today. Finding a buyer for this beautiful piece was really quite hard and I ended up taking a bath when selling it. The experience was heartbreaking but knowing that the funds were going towards something very special to me made it a little easier.

I’m not specifically an Journe fan (because of the hype), but I would sale my kidneys before parting with this watch!

It's a dream watch for me, the first Optimum I truly fell for was also a MOP (a little different to yours, darker).
You did the right thing, no question. I do recall chatting when you had listed it. It really is amazing how perception and demand can change so quickly.

Yes the black MOP is the more popular choice amongst collectors.
I enjoyed the white as the colour was very subtle unless in the correct lighting.

I did see that photo.
I believe that one is the white jade dial. You can tell the difference by the two separate pieces of jade to construct the dial. Look at 3 and 9 on the dial and you will understand what I mean.
