After years of little interest in the genre I have (relatively) recently gotten into divers. Here's what I realized I like about them:
1. They want you to go out and have a good time! They are not the kind of watches that you need to protect from mess or harsh circumstances, they are the kind of watches that encourage you to make messes and enjoy harsh circumstances.
2. Diving bezels allow larger watches to wear small, extending my 'wearable' range to 42mm. I won't go 42 on any other kind of watch (sorry Patek 5070!).
3. Most of all, they enjoy a great diversity of color, material, shape. Check out this fearsome foursome! White, blue, black, yellow, steel, titanium, carbon, internal bezel, steel bezel, integrated bracelet, fixed lugs... and on!

The elephant in the room is the ubiquitous Submariner and you don't have it (at least in the photo ). Fact is: I owned four ot them and all got sold sooner or later (same happened for the Pelagos BTW). What are you missing? High horology divers, like Breg...

I love divers...
...for exactly the same reasons that you mention. They are just fun to wear and you have a very diverse and great selection.
And most important (for me):
The rotating bezel permits convenient measurements of the elapsed time - or offers an easy to read time marker. Marcus

The Tudor, with its bidirectional bezel, is the best of the group for that function. The IWC is the worst: as a right-wrist watch wearer I pretty much have to remove the watch to turn the bezel.
Fully agree! Watches with an internal dive ring may look neat ...
... but technically are the worst option: You get another hole in the case with a potential threat for the water tightness, it is finicky to use, because you always have to unscrew that second crown, putting stress on its gasket, the crystal needs a wider...
Agreed. But I must still defend IWC's honor!
The crown that turns the internal bezel on this watch does *not* screw down, so you don't have to unscrew it to use it. And there seems not to be much cost of pressure resistance in that, or the wide crystal, since this perfectly wearable watch has 2,000 ...
