ANY SUGGESTIONS please
Being new to your forum, I'm seeking some advice please. I have an old 6139-6015 in decent shape that keeps excellent time and always has. My watchmaker tells me that if I take it in for a complete cleaning etc. I could run into a parts problem if needed. He says once it's cleaned and if it needed a new "barrel" he can't get one and the watch would likely not keep the excellent time that it does. What I'd like to know is which of the newer Seiko's have an automatic movement that would compare to the 6139 from years ago? I'm looking to purchase but not sure what to get. I'm interested in a chrono with a metal bracelet (no leather). I'd also look at another 6139 if I could find a good one that may have been recently serviced. Thanks for any ideas you may have.
