So a month ago, I posed an informal poll between the ALS Pt Datograph 1st gen vs. the PP 5960/1A-010. The Dato won hands down with PuristS 24-8 by my last tally.
Well PuristS, I took your advice to heart. πππ

(Seriously though the Dato is going to be a longer project. I did not have any luck with my hunt. Many thanks to two PuristS friends - G and Mike - who did help me along the hunt with a potential Dato that slipped away.)
The 5960A was found from an AD with lady luck on my side and I had to strike since it is discontinued and I did not want to miss the opportunity.
Wears very comfortably. I am keeping the bracelet, generally prefer bracelets over straps.

It is relatively light for me with enough heft for wrist presence, about 126g. (Had 3 links removed.). For comparison my AP RO QP is 130g.

Iβve been thinking about the Dato β I really think it needs a good robust steel bracelet to wear comfortably. Just a hunch. So I think a super jubilee bracelet might work visually even if itβs strange to mix brands, should fit 20mm lugs. π€π€― Imran, are you...

The bracelet is very good. I like the slightly old-fashion vintage look of it; sort of looks like the early bracelets made by Wellendorf that Lange sold that were straight lug. I am not bothered by the mirror polished shine. Very comfortable for me. No 1....

Thanks for the info on the bracelet. I am completely torn whether I should switch to a strap, should I happen to get the watch. Shiny bracelets are usually not my thing, but I actually quite like this one. Plus, that red #1 is great. Enjoy your new toy.

Now, I need to figure out if I want the new Aquanaut chrono, as my AD has put me very far upfront (for what reason is beyond me).

My biased opinion is to make room for the 5968 ππ. I really like its looks, especially with the orange bracelet. If you lead a casual lifestyle, then I think the 5968 will work perfectly. I have no idea about fit & comfort though. But I have a hunch that ...

Looks great on your wrist. Glad you like the bracelet too. I need to wear mine more often, especially when I can get hold of a steel pin buckle. Just my personal preference. Ken
