When it comes to precious metal Daytona’s, it’s most often the platona or yellow gold green dial, white gold blue dial that get the most attention, gemstone watches aside. Call me biased but the rose gold version, whether on rubber strap or bracelet, doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. The warmth of rolex rose coupled with a chocolate brown dial, is to me, a combination unlike any other.
When i was younger, in my 20s 30s or 40s I definitely leaned more towards steel platinum and white gold. However now that I’ve pushed into my 50s i find rose much more alluring..
Have you felt differently towards a certain metal the older you’ve gotten?

I wouldn’t have taken much interest in coloured metal in years gone by but in the last several years (as I got older) rose gold has become something I consider more.
Yellow and white metals are safe, relative to rose gold.
Maybe it’s just a result of maturity and wisdom, but I find rose gold to be the most elegant of noble metals. Thanks for your reply Jay!

Rose gold isn’t a mainstream metal, but it can evoke a warmth in certain watches that is quite pleasant and special. Thanks for your reply Nico.

It took a while for me to appreciate rose gold to the level I do today. Dial colors bracelet and strap definitely play a big role in making it all come together beautifully. Thanks for your reply !
