Visited the Chopard boutique in Sydney

Feb 27, 2022,04:16 AM

It’s been a long time since I’ve went looking at watches. My friend and watch buddy Andrea invited me to his new workplace at Chopard to view the beauties.

I spotted quite a few rarities there. If times recover for me, I’m highly tempted to get a 8 Hertz Chopard.

Here are some pictures I’ve taken of the pieces presented today:

The 250 piece LE - Alpine Eagle 8 Hertz in titanium

LUC Perpetual Calender in SS. It is quite thin, and the day-date does an instantaneous jump at 12 midnight.

The Ultra-plat LUC. This has a swan-neck regulator, and a micro-rotor. Movement is top-notch. Love it!!

This is my favourite - the 8 Hertz concept watch. The lugs are very unique.

The caseback of the 8 Hertz concept watch

This is jawdropping.

The Geneva Seal Flying Tourbillon- ultra thin and stunning!

The Mille Miglia 8 Hertz

First one looks like a nautilus or a AP royal oak.

Indeed, it does look like a nautilus or RO

I’m eyeing the 8 Hertz, that is one beast of a watch. Weighs like a feather and very well finished. I wore my GP laureato today to the store.

Thanks Fab

Very underrated watches with some really interesting features.

I really like the 8 Hertz experimental piece

Very under-rated. It was like stepping back in time, when the watch industry still innovated exciting calibres.

I suspect many collectors are just waiting...

... reports from early buyers about the accuracy, performance and, most important of all, reliability of this new caliber before jumping on it.

+1

Yes even I am watching and waiting. But after today, I realized resistence is futile.

I love it

The steel quality is vastly diff. It feels like a jewellery grade of steel. I’ll likely purchase one when times recover for me. So beautiful!=D

Yes I did

Both what feels like jewellery quality. U must feel it. I tried to gold one as well in the 36mm. Hefty piece which I really like. ...

You’ve got excellent taste

The tourbillon looks alpine eagle too

Tourbillion will be my end all watch

If i had this LUC tourbillon, i think I will stop collecting. I took a video of the tourbillon in action. So thin, so elegant. I love it. Do you love it?=D=D

Hope you get it someday.

I agree the tourbillon would be a great end piece collection

Wow thank you for sharing Cookies! Many great choice in your selection but I really love the Alpine 8Hz. Also based on our friend Champ here it seems to be an amazingly accurate movement…

I was surprised to see other 8Hz movement as I had not realized they had other reference with it…

I’m taking a close look at the 8 Hertz now. Times are hard on me for these 2 months but I hope things recover.

I can second Justin's observations.. it is like having a quartz watch with sweeping seconds... very accurate!

Mine lost 2 seconds in a month. 8hz movement was introduced back in 2012 with this model if I am not mistaken.. ...

Love this piece

Great report

That tourbillon is tops! Love it. Actually that all good alpine is sharp too and I don't like all gold much. No date as well.

;) indeed
