Chopard

Very welcome, Kong. As to the Cal 1.96...

I once upon a time owned a L.U.C Twist in white gold which of course housed this exceptionally beautiful movement; that watch is now with a friend who appreciates its overall styling as much as I appreciated the aesthetics and technical points of its motor ;-) (Perhaps this was one of those cases of being guided TOO much in acquiring a watch for what's inside rather than truly being in love with how a watch wears, looks, and coordinates with one's own style)

In any event, I remain a huge admirer of the 1.96, and this XP Tonneau is much more to my taste than the Twist, in terms of design. Of course, there's the original L.U.C classic that first introduced the 1.96 movement, but I find it a tad on the small side for me, even if one could be easily found. Getting back to the subject at hand, though...it seems a natural evolution to place the "ultimate" rendition of the Chopard microrotor caliber inside this very fine new Tonneau design at some point, but it certainly doesn't "need" it by any means.

Who knows? Maybe a platinum version of the L.U.C XP Tonneau could be so outfitted in the future? smile

Best,

Adam
