Chopard

Hello all, My wife's Chopard Happy Sport quartz ETA movement died as a result of a leaking battery :-(((( I am now faced with the challenge and cost of getting this fixed. Route 1: send it to Chopard for fixing. The watch is out of warrantee so looks like...

The watch is 4+ years old and outside warantee. The official Chopard repair cost is indicative and based on 2nd hand information. Do you think the cost indication for this type of repair is off the mark?

Model nr is the 288347-3007. Regardless of the repair cost I am still intested in details of the ETA quartz movements used for these watches. Does Chopard make any modifications to them that explain the 300-350 pricetag for the quartz movement ?...  

Chopard would modify the quartz. They do improvements for the ETA mechanical. Just did a fast check locally, the full service (including the movement, likely replace with a new piece) is about Euro260. So it is not as exorbitant from your second-hand info...
