Letβs start with a couple of positives:
- I have actually served on the executive board of a Swabian family firm in the past, so at least that aspect I am seasoned in π
- I have a lot of respect for Chopard and the family behind. In many ways hat off to them for often doing the right thing even when it wasnβt the easy thing - such as the decent service experience or going the way of developing own chronograph movements when buying Lemania or Minerva would have been the much easier path
- It is a brand I could fully stand behind and a management challenge that would most certainly not result in boredom any time soon. Plus the longer term perspective is something that as someone trained in various aspects of systems thinking obviously appeals.
Now to the challenges:
- I donβt speak French
- I am not an industry insider - so with that in mind I donβt suppose I would be asked.
But it would be a hugely interesting and satisfying challenge for sure and in a parallel universe I would love doing it ππ€π»
