Not the best sounding material for a minute repeater, but the crystal gongs help a lot on that matter.

A fellow collector told me that the platinum one was the best sounding, the density of the material apparently helps here as the sound comes from the crystal. What are your impressions?

Somehow I have this impression too after having listened to various iterations.

Amazing MR frérot !! Had the chance to hear different variants (metals) side by side and I still think the RG (original), which won the Aiguille d'Or, sounds the best 😉. So RG Sapphire WG PT carborized Steel
