Alpine Eagle 41mm steel Grey dial

At first I was interested in the 37mm Royal Oak (15450st) with its beautiful rotor decorated with the coats of arms of the Audemars & Piguet families. I also tried on the 38mm GP Laureato. And each time my preference went to the grey dial. Then I came to try on the Alpine Eagle and, once again, it's the grey dial which I loved: I guess this monochrome look just speaks to me. I was surprised at how the 41mm case was a perfect fit for my wrist and I loved the iris pattern of the dial and the Roman numerals, which give this "sports watch" a dressy look (I like that). I also loved the fact that the case, being 9.7mm thick, sits quite flat on the wrist. And, having these nautilus-like wings on each side it isn't only oriented accros the wrist but it also follows the length of the arm (I hope what I mean here isn't too obscure). Screw down crown, 100m water resistance, COSC caliber, availability and reasonable pricing finally convinced me it was the perfect choice for what I wanted. And indeed, what a great steel watch! One thing worth noting, though, is that, even if Lucent steel is supposed to be harder than regular steel, the polished center parts of each link of the bracelet are scratch magnets.

Have a nice Sunday!
