Chopard

Greetings all, I have been away from horology for quite a while and I recently put away my connected watch ( boo) and re acquired my favourite three hand sport watch. I was searching for a Chopard forum and this forum did not show up easily on the search ...  

...very sporty. I once spotted it on the wrist of a tech billionaire I was talking to (a long time ago). He was very impressed that I knew what the movement was : ) Chopard hits it out of the park with the LUC line imho.

...but he did give a few tens of billions to his alma mater a while back. He's a nice guy...very approachable...

Chopard LUC is definitely under appreciated in this and other forums. There’s so much more about LUC watches in terms of innovation, design and finishing quality.. I guess one needs to hold one in the hand to really appreciate it.

The large smooth bezel put me off a bit, fear of scratching it up in daily use. Cazalea

Throw away a connected watch. Be back at WPS. About Chopard i do not know. The pricing is difficult for me, and like Nicolas, i am not sure if Chopard is my taste.

Only those chasing ‘the hype’ will fail to recognize what this line of watches offers 😬😬😬

That Chopard is not more well known/recognized. I've been familiarizing myself with the company and am quite impressed so far, from the magnificent cal 1.96 to the ethical sourcing policy for their fair mined gold and the very friendly co-president Karl F...

and a gem of a movement. Love this watch.

The difficulty I have with Chopard is to know where they stand. From rather simple, motorsport watches which are a bit stereotypical (but they sell well I guess, which is good for a family owned business) to some attempts to high level horology. A bit har... 

......and the micro rotor certainly is very appealing. A well made watch----i think KMII has shown a similar piece on this site. I like it---but underrated!

But then I am biased as I also own one but on the bracelet which is a really nice design and very comfortable. I know we don't like talking money on this site but for what these can be found for they are IMHO an absolute steal and a bargain for what you g...  

Lately I have noticed prices are up considerably on the Sport 2000 which is now 20 years old since it was introduced. I have seen offers on bracelet for 6-8k which is much more than it used to be, perhaps people are starting to realise what a steal this m...
