The 1860s with the 1.96 movement
Feb 02, 2022,20:35 PM
Over the past year I have become more and more obsessed with these, and they are extremely difficult to find! Hard to believe one sold for $7500 here not too long ago
Was wondering if anyone has come across any or is selling one? I really like the newer LUC 1860 XPS with the officer caseback, but 40mm is a bit large for a dressy piece imo.

Thank you, just posted
I've never understood Chopard's decision...

One of the very first good watches I tried really hard to buy

I thought I had a seller lined up, but did a last minute "safety check" with a friend who was registrar of voters in Frankfurt. He said the address was a tenement building in a very bad location in town (no offence if you live in that part of Germany). So...

They just created the whole dial I believe (guilloche + markers)
The resemblance is striking at first blush!

In December 2015, Philippe Dufour gave a presentation in which he compared the movement and finishing of his Simplicity to a somewhat similar-looking watch. He didn't name the model or brand of that other watch at the presentation, but, well, let's just s...
Amazing

These are 1860/2 correct? Without the hinged caseback?
Wow

A platinum 1860? That's a rare find, and I love the look. You have two of the rarest ones. If you ever change your mind about the platinum one I'd like to consider it

yup 40mm for a dressy watch is too big for me, even though I do think the XPS 1860 is beautiful
Pure class

I can see why you love it
The Chopard 1.96 is one of my favorite movements
By: NickO : February 3rd, 2022-00:05
Maybe a little known fact, Cedric Johner got a hold of a dozen or so 1.96 movements and put them in his signature Abyss case. I had one many, many moons ago. I can’t think of any other third-party manufacturer outside of Johner who has had the privilege o...
I didn’t know that, thanks!

Just another reason to love Maison Parmigiani. What fabulous work he does!
Truly a wonderful watch.

Here's a picture of my Chopard, I consider myself very lucky to have purchased this. Was very surprised at how relatively cheap they were when I bought it. ...

1.96 just for kicks...

I had two of these both in the light dial and dark dial and in rose gold. I find 36 mm too small although this dial is a real winner. It was the beginning of Chopard into real Haute Horologie, and for that reason perhaps I should have kept one. The 1.96 w...
Well, I was able to get one.

I just missed one on C24 about a week ago, it was in white gold/white dial with the removable case back. Have to say the yellow gold is my first choice, although white gold with salmon dial would be hard to resist. Enjoy!
Thank you!

Someone posted a white gold/white dial one in Japan: But the price is rather absurd and it seems to have jumped up a lot
