Re: LC Tank & CPCP transition...

Hi Tom, let's recap, I think my previous reply was not so clear.
The pre CPCP Tank, like you have, was re-introduced in 1999, in Collection Privée Cartier Paris
and remained in the catalogue roughly another 8 years.
The case dimensions were 33.5x25.5mm and it still contained the caliber 021MC, with 40 hours power reserve.
The watch was available in yellow gold and platinum.
Pictured here is an older platinum Tank, (with the same dimensions) together with the XL version,
which should give an idea what has been changed in looks.

Then the LC Tank XL was introduced, in CPCP, in 2006.
This model is quite a bit larger, but with dimensions of 30x39.2mm, a really ideal watch to wear.
It's got the gorgeous new in house movement, caliber 9701 MC, that can be seen thru the back of the case.

This LC Tank XL was released in pink gold and in platinum, but in a very small production.
If I remember well, roughly 250 pieces were made in pink gold and somewhere like 50 in platinum.

CPCP came to an end in 2009 and that whole collection is not being produced anymore.
Some models can still be found in the Boutiques.
Hope this gives a better answer to your question.

The new LC Tank XL that was released this year, see my reply at your previous post,
is the successor.
