When quartz triumphs!

Like most of us, I too love mechanical watches but I could not resist purchasing this Cartier tank which only comes with a quartz movement. For many, that would be a big no no but for me, it is the dial that matters most on a watch followed by the comfort...

Goes Well with Black.

The visual flow from strap to dial to strap is almost unbroken... well integrated. Great watch!

Thanks Steve!

I actually prefer this version compared to the earlier red, blue and green models.

The appeal is obvious

Good choice!

Thank you Andrea!

For a quartz watch it was not easy to source so obtaining one is an added delight!

One of the most appealing current Tank imo.

Very, very tempting for a quartz ! Congratulations on that piece of elegance !

Many thanks Boris!

The watch was too elegant to overlook, even as a quartz!

Cartier classic …

This design just keeps looking better and better. The long life “High Autonomy” quartz movement has a battery life of approximately six to eight years making this movement better for the owner and the environment. Enjoy !

Thank you for the information Captain!

 By: sham1 : February 15th, 2023-11:48
That explains why Cartier now offers an extended warranty of eight years. Are you sure this battery will last that long?! If so, I am suitably impressed!

Apparently …

 By: Cpt Scarlet : February 15th, 2023-18:44
It can be six to eight years. The main thing is not to leave a dead battery in the watch. Take it for service.

Most definitely!

 By: sham1 : February 16th, 2023-02:45
Many fail to realise that to leave a dead battery in a watch can destroy the mechanism. So it is vital that we check our watches especially the quartz ones to ensure that they are still working.

My pleasure to be of assistance 😉

I guess we will know for sure in a few years !

I have little doubt

 By: sham1 : February 16th, 2023-02:47
that you will be hearing from either Fabrizio or I should our batteries die after two years!

😱😂❤️

Congrats Sham, my girlfriend’s latest Christmas gift that I’ve been liking so much that…shortly after I ordered an identical one for her!😁❤️

 By: FabR : February 15th, 2023-09:54
Even for a pretty convinced ‘horological purist’ like me, it was a no brainer to make an exception for a quartz Cartier — especially for such an elegant yet fun and versatile piece….I’m sure you’ll thoroughly enjoy it my friend!👍🥂 Twins😄 Mine Hers😄 ...

One thing for certain Fabrizio.........

you take much better photos than I do! Yes I owe it to your original post on this watch that spurred me on to getting one. Your posts on enamel dial Pateks did not have the same effect only because my bank account would never allow me to spoil myself to t...

Many thanks my friend, glad you decided to include this most enjoyable Cartier in your beautiful collection! :-)

I just hope my girlfriend won't read this, as she's become almost unstoppable since she fell in love with Patek last year (so far she bought three from one of our ADs)....a Rare Handcraft might indeed be her next target! Scary situation! ;-)))) The last o...

I had to show my wife photos of your wonderful enamel dial watches

 By: sham1 : February 15th, 2023-12:43
and she was obviously impressed. But no Pateks for her - just handbags

🙏😉❤️

I could not agree more!

 By: sham1 : February 16th, 2023-02:41
three years ago when I met my partner (now my wife), she knew nothing about watches. Now, I actually ask her for her opinion before buying anything as she has taken a level of interest I could never have expected her to take. And thank goodness, she has s...

Looks great 👍

Cartier mastered the quartz crisis

 By: Gabriel80 : February 15th, 2023-12:01
like no other. It's the unique design and heritage that matter most for Cartier.

Agreed that when it comes to design

 By: sham1 : February 15th, 2023-12:23
few can compete with Cartier. Hence despite not using the best movements available, their watches remain desirable because of their unparalleled style and design.

I am always in awe

when a brand can create something like the Crash, the Cloche, the Tank Basculante, the Tank Cintree to name a few. Perhaps their designers had been given more freedom than the other brands.

true true

 By: Gabriel80 : February 15th, 2023-16:10
for established brands it's always a big challenge to find the right way between tradition and innovation. Being too traditional becomes boring, being too creative can alienate old customers.

I guess so

 By: sham1 : February 15th, 2023-16:59
although it would be nice if large brands while keeping their self identity manage to be creative to a certain extent as I believe there is a large demand these days for something different but of quality. Many watch enthusiasts are weary of buying from s...

Definitely -- besides the lack of reliability of many of the "modern Indies" that pop up on a daily basis, something truly iconic necessarily relies on history and tradition, and is therefore (almost by definition!) a prerogative of established brands...

 By: FabR : February 15th, 2023-17:42
We do see some innovation, but I think it's always a delicate exercise for a good brand to do it meaningfully while remaining faithful to its DNA -- definitely not an easy task to strike the right balance! Cheers.

Agreed Fabrizio!

We have never been more spoiled for choice when it comes to watches with big brands reissuing older models, independents redefining fine finishing, Cartier reiterating its claim to be the King of Watch Design plus plenty of rare handicrafts by the top bra...

congratulations Sham...

minimalist & very much you in its DNA...enjoy in your best health !

Thank you very much Mahesh!

My DNA is somewhat one dimensional and predictable! I hope you manage to get the yellow gold mechanical version of this watch.
