Can you believe that this was Gents size 20 years ago? In person it looks really tiny, and I don't have a big wrist at all. I do love this watch, which was my first "good" one. I "cannot" wear it anymore due to my perception of the size (weird but true), ...  

For this day and age it may be perceived to be bitty small. But i would hang on to it because trend is going smaller again. Plus there will be a day that you will wear this and post a photo titled : “10 years ago it was too small” Its a great piece

So I definitely look forward to that comparison 👍🏻

The latest has improved there, I definitely want to check it out. I've never had any issues with the bracelet, it's extremely comfortable.

Sizes like this look IMHO so much better than these crazy fashionable large watches. I love the fact that one still can see some of the good looking bracelet, instead of a watch case the width of your wrist. Of course, I realize that I am one of the few h...

It's been in my wife's collection for a few years and, to be honest, it looks much better on her 😉

This model has been for so many years a mens model, so let's fashion not dictate you that you can't wear it anymore. The fact that women started to wear mens watches, does not turn these pieces into ladies models. And women get away with anything they wea... 

I'm so confused when I look at it. Same watch and same wrist as 20 years ago, but totally different feelings. As you said, probably it's a matter of time on the wrist and I'll see it differently.

early 90's Rolex. So tiny, so, can I use the word, stupid looking, inappropriate on a man's wrist.. A Santos won't EVER look stupid. What a great design. The basic shape has been around for over a hundred years and it still looks fresh. Fabulous!

I had the same problem with my old Cartier Panther from the '80s. Beautiful watch but compared to today's aesthetic it looked like a woman's watch. I ended up selling it, I now have a Chaumet dandy.

Honestly, it is just that many of us are still used to look at oversized watches, but in fact, it is so much nicer to see part of the bracelet too. But if you would like a bigger Santos have a look at the Santos Galbée XL from 2005. It is larger than the ...  

And it's actually much more comfortable than some of my other larger watches. Thanks!

what a great forum section. Cartier Santos, what a fabulous watch. I am almost one step away from that stunning icon. The posts and stories in this section is a perfect tool to see different versions in many ways.

Perhaps it’s different if I saw it on your wrist. I doubt it though. Don’t view a timeless elegant design like this the same as you would with the much more contemporary designs. This design was not intended to fill your wrist. Just as when you see a Role...

I consider the 100XL because it is a good size for my 7,5 inch wrist. Too big and too small are also not my thing. I chose always from 39mm case size to a max of 44mm. Sometimes it is the presence of a watch to ignore the size specs on a list. A 42mm case...
