Late 90s Bulgari Watches in Film
Oct 18, 2023,03:54 AM
Does anyone recognize these watches from the late 90s, probably between 1997 and 1999?
In the Peter Greenaway film "8 1/2 Women" from 1999 one of the main characters wears two watches (at once) for the duration. I was trying to ID them, and saw that Bulgari was thanked in the end credits, so I started down that rabbit hole. They look like they could be a match for chronometers from around that time but I haven't found any examples in these colours. One is black, with numbers on a black bezel. The other appears to be steel or some other metal with a white face and three black subdials.
Here are the cropped photos and then contextual photos. The resolution is awful but it's the best I could find. Appreciate any leads, thanks!

The resemblance is hard to ignore, thank you! While most of those seem to have a metal case with a plastic bezel, I found this one that is all black just like the one in the film and this could be it. I thought the watch in the film had arabics on the dia...
Glad I could help!

I think the second watch may be a Swatch chronograph, which have the prongs similar to watch in your frame captures and were also very popular in the 90s as well… ...
