I just came across this post, as I am quite interested in this model

It's a great picture of a sensational model, Nico.

I hear you regarding the date, and the consensus here is that the Ginza limited edition is purer / nicer. I thought so too as well initially, but strangely this date is growing on me.

If it had been just a regular rectangle, like every other date function on the market, I would have found it boring, and would prefer a non date version. But what they have done with the trapezoid aperture, and the numbers size to fit that odd shape, is very quirky. In many ways, it brings a touch of modernity to a model that's extremely classical and traditional. A little bit like the dash of red on the power reserve of my 1815 Auf / Ab makes it just a bit more playful and young.

So given the outstanding dial, top of its class movement and beautifully executed case, this might very well be my next dress watch.

My best picture of the Breguet Classique 5177 White Gold Enamel Blue Dial.

A watch which was unveiled in 2019 and which made a strong impression on me. If it didn't have a date, I would have probably already jumped on it. A jewel. Best, Nicolas ...

A beauty

If only it didn't tell us 63

LOL!

 By: amanico : February 4th, 2022-09:08

For you we can do it.

 By: amanico : February 4th, 2022-10:03

:))))

 By: amanico : February 4th, 2022-10:16

Ha, but

The font, size, ink, vertical plane, and even background, are all different. So, in real life, this is not an issue.

You are so right!

And it breaks the tyranny of symmetry (a phrase I'm coining!). In all seriousness, it's a beautiful watch and so nice to wear. ...

A beauty indeed…

 By: shortys home : February 4th, 2022-09:16
… the texture of the dial and the subtle signature over the 6 are mesmerizing. Cheers Henrik ...

LOL! Good one!

 By: amanico : February 4th, 2022-10:48

It’s a very alluring watch

 By: Cookies : February 4th, 2022-10:27
Something in it, makes one of my watch collector friend from Canada, melt. Totally melt… I saw this piece in real life. I never forgot it. It is special.

Or at least over the 6?

As a counterbalance to the "Breguet" lettering above?

Naaaah! :))))

 By: amanico : February 5th, 2022-15:10

Hehehehe!

 By: MTR : February 5th, 2022-15:12
Desperate suggestions, I know. But even that would look better, I think.

I have an easy fix! Just find one of the LE's with no date!

 By: BigFatPauli : February 4th, 2022-11:35
Good luck with that... It's probably sitting in a drawer next to my future Type XX.

One can dream though!

 By: BigFatPauli : February 4th, 2022-11:38
The worst part of the LE is that it pretty much cements the idea that Breguet will not make a regular production version sans date.

Don't get my hopes up! That would be a dream!

 By: BigFatPauli : February 4th, 2022-13:12
Now just change the caliber to a manual wind and I'm reaching for my charge card

Well, I'm not too vworried about the Breguet being made so....

 By: BigFatPauli : February 4th, 2022-23:18
Post to your hearts content with regard to Type XX's!! Though, in all honesty, I think I have my next watch all picked out. It is, shall I say, a wise choice.

Which next watch?

 By: amanico : February 5th, 2022-05:21

Ha! Among others! ;)

 By: amanico : February 5th, 2022-13:59

For sure among others but...

 By: BigFatPauli : February 5th, 2022-14:12
I may have something (hopefully) big to celebrate this year so it's appropriate. I am still considering which version, but I am leaning towards the GBLT997.

What is the GBLT997?

 By: amanico : February 5th, 2022-14:12

This;

...

I see, the Credor!

 By: amanico : February 5th, 2022-14:16

Could you suggest to Breguet a similar LE with a blue guilloché dial?

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : February 4th, 2022-13:30
If you ask, I'm sure they will listen! 1775-2025, 250 anniversary LE!

I wish I had some, too!

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : February 4th, 2022-15:00
Maybe nico has, though?

THAT would be great.

 By: amanico : February 4th, 2022-17:01

Agreed, here.

 By: amanico : February 4th, 2022-12:49

One of my favorite Breguets.

 By: jlux : February 4th, 2022-12:32
In this case the date is not too disturbing for me. I strongly considered this watch for my collection but personally found the size to be a bit too small for my taste.

One of my favorites, too!

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : February 4th, 2022-13:06
A watch I love wearing! ...

Too cool, my lucky friend.

 By: amanico : February 4th, 2022-17:01

You find it too small?

 By: amanico : February 4th, 2022-22:03

Beautiful watch

A stunner indeed! 😍

Thanks for looking, T.

 By: amanico : February 4th, 2022-22:02

Wonderful!

 By: MTR : February 4th, 2022-17:21
I had the chance to look at the version with blue enamel dial and Tourbillon two weeks ago. The dial is live even more impressing than on pictures. I think they solved the date indication quite well, but I agree with you that it would be even better witho...

Here is the Ginza limited edition. Same but no date.

Credit Monochrome ...

Gorgeous!!

 By: MTR : February 5th, 2022-09:16
This would be the Breguet I would buy immediately. Without thinking one second. Best Thomas

We simply have the better taste 😉

 By: MTR : February 5th, 2022-15:00
Seriously speaking, my AD told me once that searching for watches without date indication is a “minority program”. For many potential buyers and interested persons a watch without a date display is much less appealing.

But there often would be

 By: MTR : February 5th, 2022-15:07
so much nicer ways to show the date if they (really) tried hard. Someone should invent a date indicator on the back. Like PR indications for example.

That's a good suggestion.

 By: amanico : February 5th, 2022-15:08

I would join immediately!

 By: MTR : February 5th, 2022-09:17
🤤

Me too, most probably.

 By: amanico : February 5th, 2022-09:47

Ahh lovely blu dial

 By: Ping.Timeout : February 21st, 2022-10:40
Is this enamel dial?

Yes, it is.

 By: amanico : February 21st, 2022-10:56

Sleeping on it sounds much better

 By: Ping.Timeout : February 24th, 2022-09:58
At least for now

Naaah! :)))

 By: amanico : February 24th, 2022-17:15

Time to save for next piece

 By: Ping.Timeout : February 24th, 2022-22:28

Yep!

 By: amanico : February 24th, 2022-22:28

between this & the white enamel grand-feu - which one do you prefer ?

 By: mahesh : March 21st, 2022-19:58
and why ? I agree the date-window irks a bit...the dial is done in great taste & someone thought let us add a 'date window' - we should find that person ;-) Best, mahesh.,

I just came across this post, as I am quite interested in this model
