That's distortion from the camera lens.
The case is actually 39 mm in diameter and a modest 11.3 mm thick. The narrow bezel and bright white dial also contribute to an impression of greater size. In life, the Réveil du Tsar looks very proportional on my 7 1/4" wrist.
I wonder if it would be better to...
...have an 'alarm' that vibrated only and didn't ring. Maybe thinner and less complicated?
