Hands-on with the Breguet Classic Souscription
I went to try on the Breguet Classique Souscrition ref. 2025BH/28/9W6 with my L.U.C Quattro Spirit 25 (ref. 161977-5001), a watch that shares some similarities with it: enamel dial, single hand (but not 12-hour display, as there's a jump hour) and colored gold 40 mm case (rose gold for the L.U.C and "Breguet" gold for the souscription).
Notice how both watches are showing
the same time, each in its own personal way: 3:07.

The
enamel dial is truly beautiful: it is gently
domed, whereas the one of my L.U.C is
flat. And the
secret signature (to be discovered only with a magnifier) is a nice touch.

Unfortunately for smaller wrists like mine, the
lug-to-lug is a little
long. The lugs are not as straight as are the most common Breguet ones, which is a good thing, but the watch
wears a
bit too big.

I was concerned about the "
pinion" to which the single hand is fixed as it looked a bit unfinished on the
close ups from Monochrome, but in real life it's very fine: very tiny and absolutely not disturbing.

At
10.8 mm, the watch feels a bit
thick and it accentuates the feeling of a watch that is a little too big for my kind of wrists.

The caliber VS00 is absolutely stunning.

From this standpoint, I must say that it's far
superior to my L.U.C: for comparison, I have
posted here some photos of the 98 Quattro movement.

And the watch is a true
pleasure to
wind: the crown is easy to grip and the "ratchet feel" is exquisite.

The
buckle is nicely designed too.

In conclusion, I would say that the Breguet Souscription is a very beautiful watch, which could interest me if it weren't a little too large for my wrist type and if I didn't already own my L.U.C., as the two watches share too many similarities.
I am convinced that the daily experience of a single 12-hour hand offers a broader and probably more soothing way of measuring time.
