Question on air command

Oct 02, 2020,01:31 AM

Dear All,
Just picked up my air command from boutique today.
The 42.5mm sized case doesn’t look too big on wrist, though slightly thick.
The dial is really awesome.

I know the bezel can be moved in both directions, for pilot to measure remaining time of fuel.

But I find there is no clicking when turning the bezel, ie it can be turned freely in both directions. Unlike the clicking mechanism of fifty fathoms. May I know is it normal?

Thank you.

Henry

Yes, it’s completely normal as you were informed by the boutique! Enjoy your beauty and welcome to the club: Best, Mark ...

Top shot 👌 [nt]

Thanks, Henrik. That’s reassuring. As I read from a hands-on report saying the bi-directional pilot bezel is ratcheted.

Since the bezel and glass were overed by plastic film in the boutique, hence I didn’t check the turning of bezel, thought it is ratcheted with click as in most other watches. Cheers, Henry

Thanks for the further confirmation, Templetowers.

Yes, I am attracted by its beauty. On further reading the caliber inside is quite impressive as well, especially the 5Hz beat rate to enable chronograph measurement of 1/10 sec.

An update:

Just called the SA of boutique. That's normal. The bi-directional bezel has no ratchet/ clicking on turning.

Good to ear. Big congrats [nt]

Although I would prefer that great clicking sound of the FF

Beautiful balance of the bi-complex chronograph

Think my next chrono will be this design -the balance has won me over
