Clever fellow, you. The legwork and long assembly line were worth the effort involved, and this looks sharp. I would go so far as to say that compared to the monotone stitched black strap, the red contrast has sufficient power to transform the look of the watch. Wear it in great health, and enjoy your swimming!
However, I am somewhat dismayed that Blancpain has ceased to supply rubber straps for the old Leman models. Those are some of the finest and most prolific pieces the post-1980 iteration of Blancpain has produced, and it's a disappointment to learn that accessory parts support has been curtailed so early in the life cycle of an heirloom-quality watch family.

Kari, First of all, your combo is great and it was well worth the time (and money) that you spent. Just like you, I'm only happy with a watch when I get the exact balance between the watch and the strap. Of course, the matching vendor buckle is mandatory....
