More an instrument than a watch: the Blancpain X-Fathoms
I am still very happy my wristshot of this watch has made a successful performance in last weekends wrist scan 😊
So let me share many more photos of this impressive timepiece and diving instrument.
Thanks to the Blancpain Boutique in Munich I had the chance to see the X-Fathoms in the metal for the first time, and I used those 24 hours wisely to capture it in photos, some of those being factual, some sensual (I hope 😬).
I'll start with the factual ones of this 56mm titanium watch:
As you can see, the case does not have lugs, it is embedded in an extremly comfortable and quite complicated rubber strap. This strap has undoubtedly received a lot of thought by Blancpain, since it wraps around your wrist, even down to a wrist size of approximately 16cm. And the clasp is the perfect round-up for the entire appearance:
Now, let's get a bit more colourful 😉...
As you can see from those mediocre lume shots, all indications are easily visible, which is a minimum requirement for a professional dive watch. And the intensity of the lume is insane 😎
Finally, let me add some of those shots which - I hope - are revealing the sensual side of this amazing timepiece. You have seen the first one in last weekends wrist scan, but there are so many more I like to with you... hopefully you enjoy the most of them ☺️

I'll close this report with what I personally took from my day with the X-Fathoms:
It is not a watch you can really wear outdoors other than for it's original pupose, using it as a dive intrument. And it is very very large.
But I love it! Actually, I started to miss it badly the moment it was picked up for its journey home to Munich. Really badly 😥
Blancpain has done an exceptional job in creating a watch that gets as close to the essence of diving as the original Fifty Fathoms did in 1953. A true masterpiece 🤗

My favorite modern Fifty Fathoms. Vintage apart, of course.
Why? It is the epitome of a Fifty Fathoms, with originality and technicality. It is not " just " a re edition ( it is not, by the way ), of the Fifty Fathoms. It pushes the limits of the original spirit. A kind of diving concept watch. Best, Nicolas

This is an absurd watch... and I like it, very much!

I've always been fascinated with this piece!
Love the bold design. Curious if there is any issue with sand or other particles getting trapped behind the mesh.
As you said more an instrument than a watch but for me it has its (particular) charm. It is almost impossible to wear everyday but as vintage FF this is not intended for it, it is a dive beast a masculine and massive work horse.
Also the complexity of the strap is fascinating and also the buckle is really massive. Thank for sharing with us! Best.
